Trusonic Chosen by Simply Fashions for In-Store Music and Audio Promotions


In-store radio network targets promotions to preferred customers to increase sales

San Diego, CA - January 11, 2005 - Trusonic, a business music and messaging service, announced today that Simply Fashions, a retailer of ladies' casual wear, has selected Trusonic for in-store music and audio promotions at all 230 stores. Established as the Simply Fashions Radio Network, the service combines music programming and promotional messaging to increase sales. The system was sold and installed by Audio Electronics, Inc. of Nashville, one of Trusonic's largest value-added resellers.

Simply Fashions chooses music play-lists created from the Trusonic library of songs by major label and independent musicians. Songs are chosen to match the tastes and demographics of the retailer's customer base for its in-store radio network. The Trusonic MBOX ™ player installed in each store automatically communicates with Trusonic using the Internet and downloads new music and messaging each day. The company runs two in-store audio promotions each month for preferred customers, such as "buy-one, get-one free."

"Previously we used a boom-box radio system in each store, but that didn't give us a lot of flexibility, and we had no way to block ads from other stores," said Austin Englebert, vice president of Simply Fashions. "We had been working with Audio Electronics to develop a strategy to tailor music and messages for our stores. They were instrumental in introducing us to the Trusonic technology. After only four weeks of a twelve week trial, we decided to implement the system in every store".

During the trial, sales data from Simply Fashions. POS System were compared with on-line reports from the Trusonic system that show exactly which messages were played in each store. This analysis demonstrated that sales volumes for the products increased when they were promoted with audio messages.

"We give stores the ability to change any message at any store quickly and easily. This makes audio promotion a powerful revenue generator for retailers."
